Help and Tech Support

If you have read the sign in instructions and are still having difficulty signing in to the online poll, please check your eligibility with Beth Carmichael at bethc@birminghambar.org and/or 251-8006.

If you are having technical problems with the website, and have verified your eligibility to vote in the poll, send an email to Brian Brock at mail@birminghambarassociation.org with your question or issue; please be as specific as possible as to the error you are having.

Only members in good standing with the Birmingham Bar Association, classified as "Active" status, are eligible to vote in the 2008 judicial poll.  The poll will be available from April 28th, 2008 until May 16th at 11:59 p.m.  Results will be announced and posted on the Birmingham Bar website at http://www.birminghambar.org/ once the poll has ended and votes are tallied.

BBA Online Poll Sign In Instructions

You are now at the Birmingham Bar's online polling site for the 2008 Judicial Opinion Poll.  Please READ these instructions to sign in and cast your vote.

  • Your user name will generally be your first name and last name entered as you would normally write them; for example: Brian Brock would be a valid user name, while brian brock would not.
  • Capitalize your name as you would normally write it and do not enter punctuation or characters other than letters.  For example: B. Patrick Brock, Brian P. Brock, Bri'an Brock, brian brock and B.P. Brock would all be incorrect user names.  You only get one first name and one last name for purposes of signing in.
  • EXCEPTION to the above: if, for example, Brian Patrick Brock and Brian Patrick Brock Jr are both practicing law and BBA members, then the latter WOULD log in as Brian Brock Jr.  The same goes for those with no first name on file; ex: B P Brock would log in as B P Brock.  You may need to contact us if you have the same name as another BBA member (i.e. if you are a Jr, III, etc.) for your login name.
  • Your password is your Alabama State Bar ("ASB") number.  This is NOT your 6-digit "Bar ID" number that goes on your court pleadings.  Your ASB number is printed on the front of your Alabama Law License.  If your ASB number was ASB-9999-A99A your password would be 9999A99A.  Leave off the "ASB" and the "-" marks.
  • If you do not know your ASB number, and cannot find your Alabama Law License, you will need to contact the Alabama State Bar to obtain your ASB number.
  • If you have followed these directions and are still unable to log in, it is possible your information is incorrect in the Birmingham Bar Association's database.  If you suspect that is the case, contact Beth Carmichael at bethc@birminghambar.org and/or 251-8006 to verify your information and eligibility.
